Teryn Zmuda is the Deputy Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Economist for the NACo County Innovations Lab. She leads the effort to promote NACo as a thought leader on top county issues and grounds the Lab’s policy research in high-quality data, while developing applicable research studies and reports. Teryn oversees quantitative and qualitative research within the Lab, produces economic analysis of counties and leads collaboration in NACo’s data-driven initiatives.
Teryn comes to NACo with more than a decade of association experience — previously working at Consumer Technology Association and American Staffing Association — and expertise from the perspective of a research firm, Avrio Institute. Teryn holds a M.A. in Applied Economics from George Washington University and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Maryland.
